Paint-Your-Own Pottery

No reservations are required—just walk in and start painting. Choose from over 300 bisque pottery pieces and 101+ glazes to design your own masterpiece. Once finished, we glaze and fire your pottery in-house, making it food-safe and durable. Your piece will be ready for pickup in about a week.

Glazing & Firing
Once you're finished, leave your pottery with us. We’ll glaze and fire it in our kiln, creating a smooth, durable, and food-safe finish.

Pick Up Your Masterpiece
Your piece will be ready for pickup in about two week. We’ll let you know when it's ready to be taken home and enjoyed!

At Nana’s Kiln Time, our Glazing & Specialty Classes are all about exploring new techniques that take your pottery from ordinary to extraordinary. Whether you're trying glazing for the first time or looking to refine your skills, our hands-on classes will introduce you to a variety of fun and creative methods.
Here are just a few of the techniques you can try during our Wednesday and Friday sessions:
Dripping and Layering
Let gravity do the work as fluid glazes melt and flow, creating organic drip patterns. Layer multiple glazes for depth, texture, and stunning color blends that transform in the kiln.
Stamping & Spattering
Stamping is a great way to create consistent, detailed shapes by pressing pre-designed stamps into glaze for a crisp, uniform pattern. Spattering adds a playful, speckled texture by flicking glaze onto the surface, creating a fun, beachy, sun-kissed effect.
Marbling & Splattering
Swirl multiple glaze colors together to create a fluid, blended effect with soft transitions. Add splattered glaze or paint for a starry, textured finish that mimics the look of a galaxy or nebula.

Tracing & Detailing
Tracing helps transfer intricate designs onto pottery, ensuring clean outlines and proportionate features. Fine line detailing adds definition, making the artwork pop, while color blocking fills in sections with bold, even glaze for a crisp, polished look.
Bubble Glazing & Stenciling
Bubble glazing creates a unique, organic pattern by mixing glaze with soap and blowing bubbles onto the surface, leaving behind a soft, foamy texture once fired. Stenciling adds a sharp, defined design.

Step-by-step painting instructions – Perfect for beginners and experienced painters alike.
How It Works
1. Choose Your Pottery Piece – Stop by the studio or call to see what’s available.
2. Pick Up Your Kit – We’ll package everything you need to get started.
3. Paint at Home – Take your time, get creative, and enjoy the process!
4. Return for Firing – Bring your painted piece back to the studio, and we’ll glaze and fire it in our kiln.
5. Pick Up Your Finished Piece – Your pottery will be ready in about a week!
Take-home kits are customized to your needs, so if you have a special request, just ask!
